2008 Juicy Tidbits
Cabot, the Chinese Crested on the front of the men's calendar was mere hours away from death when he was rescued by his current owner (who also fosters dogs for Crest Care)
Mr. January 2008 used his photo on his Christmas Card with a snowy background (he sent me one, it's really funny!)
Mr. September 2008 had some "manscaping" showing in one of his proofs - it looked like the dog had a mowhawk
Ms January 2008 posed specifically because her husband told her not to (he got over it)
Ms March 2008 is the sister of Ms December 2007
I really think I'd rather shoot myself than do a 2009 calendar!!!!!
2007 Juicy Tidbits
There are 2 sets of husbands and wives in the 2007 calendar
Miss February 2006 is on the cover of the women's 2007 calendar
Mister July 2006 is on the cover of the men's 2007 calendar
It is MUCH more difficult to find men to pose for the calendar than women
While at his wife's photo shoot (Miss November), Steve agreed to pose for the men's calendar and set up his appointment right then and there! (he's now Mr. December)
One of the dogs in the women's calendar is a cancer survivor
The Great Dane in the women's calendar stands 7 feet tall on his hind legs

- Did you know there's a breast cancer survivor in the calendar? I'm not telling which one it is, but she really felt good about her photograph and told me her self esteem went "way up" when she saw how beautiful her photo turned out.
- June's dog (Shamus) is a great example of a rescue gone good. Shamus had been left out in a backyard, his owners moved and just left him there. Most of his back teeth have been broken off because he ate rocks to survive. Fortunately, he was rescued and is now being fostered in a great home. He is the sweetest dog imaginable and loves to meet new people.
- We took many photographs of puppies on my back and my friend, Jackie's back to try to get a good shot for the cover. I posed with Holly's (April) Golden Retriever puppy, Bingo, on my back while Holly held him in place. Holly was blowing Golden Retriever hair off my butt. You know you have a true friend when they blow Golden Retriever hair off your butt. In the same token, I repaid this favor by moving her thong underwear away from her feet so they wouldn't show up in the photograph. It's amazing the lengths we will go to for friendship.
- My sister (October) and I (February) will be grounded for life when our mother finds out about this calendar. So far we're safe, but it's just a matter of time. I'm sure the photographer was ready to ban us from her studio when our pictures were being taken. We were trying to get Abby (tri-color collie) to perk her ears up. I kept pursing my lips together in a "kissing " noise. Well, after 20 times of that, Abby just didn't care so I had to resort to other noises and facial expressions. My sister kept insisting the kissing noise worked best, the conversation went somethimg like this:
"I told you to make the kissing noise, it works best" |
"I AM doing the kissing noise and she's not responding" |
"Do the kissing noise!" |
"NO, I'm using another noise and she's responding, watch her" |
"She is NOT responding to that noise, do the kissing noise" |
"Shut up and pose, I'll make her ears perk up my own way!" |
"When mom finds out about this calendar I'm going to tell her you made me do it!" |
"You brat". |
- The ages of the models in the calendar range from 22 to 51, we're proud of the way we look no matter what the age. Only one of the models has experience modeling professionally. The rest of us are just average women who like to take off our clothes. Ha, ha.
